Z okazji wydania albumu fishnarc również w kilku słowach opowiedział, jak wiele dla niego znaczy wydanie tej EPki oraz przybliżył okoliczności w jakich utwory powstawały.
Przy okazji warto wspomnieć, że już od 12 listopada (prawie w drugą rocznicę śmierci Peepa) w polskich kinach (w sieci multikino z tego co mi wiadomo) obejrzeć będzie można "Everybody's Everything" - film dokumentalny opowiadający o życiu oraz twórczości Gusa. Producentami wykonawczymi dokumentu są Terrence Malick oraz matka rapera - Liza Womack. Wybieracie się? GOTH ANGEL SINNER is finally out, in its original, raw, fresh from the studio form. these songs feel like a screenshot from a moment where I didn’t track time; and events and songs and people swirled around me. i had moved to LA months earlier at peep’s encouragement, to help provide guitar for beats so that the constant battle of clearing samples could end. I made hundreds of beats in those months, lived in many places and constantly on the edge of running out of money. all of the guitar for each beat was recorded in my tiny studio apartment in macarthur park, los angeles that i shared with horse head, yawns, skyler ford, and sometimes peep when there were too many heads at his own crib. GOTH ANGEL SINNER was made extremely casually, but taken so seriously. we never stopped playing the demos; on our phones, in ubers, at other studio sessions, on the tour van….and they’re the very same versions that you can listen to now. they manifested a growing bond between peep and i as friends and musicians. we had been getting tighter, but it was making these songs that we both recognized as so special that brought us close together as people. his decision to come out as bisexual happened in that same week in that same apartment over a breakfast i had made of spinach smoothies and huevos rancheros (peep only drank the smoothie and played with the eggs). the eyes of the world fell heavy but it felt quiet and nice between the two of us in my four cornered room. we made 6 or 7 songs together with ILoveMakonnen right after; when the tour to support his album happened, he asked me to come along, and performed all three songs in a row, with me dancing on stage as support. it was so silly and fun and I cry watching videos from this time. anyways, this is long-winded, and I’m just so happy and grateful to Liza for her commitment to fulfilling Gus’ vision for our music and working with me to release these songs that I hold so dear to my heart. it really has been too long. It feels like somethings finally been born, but also that our work is complete.
