Uwielbiam go. Znienawidzony przez konserwatystów, łapany za nutki przez purystów, uwielbiany przez dobrych, wesołych ludzi. Mesjasz... Warsztat i skillsy tego człowieka są nie z tej ziemii. Rozmach na jego albumach jest jedyny i niepowtarzalny. Nie wiem czy widzieliście go live ale sieje rozpierdol. Ma ekipę która nie cacka się ze sprzętem, nie bawi się w głaskanie po tubach i wycieranie paproszków z klawiszy. Robią ogień. Uwielbiam go w duecie z Ryanem Porterem. Właśnie jako sideman był na jego projektach tutaj niewymienionych np. The Optimist. Razem wyglądają jak jazzowi Big and Puff. Kozak.

Jakiś czas temu wyszła płyta, powoli się osłuchuję i wrażenia na razie takie, że to słabszy album od poprzednich - mniej wykręcony, bliższy ludziom, ale ceniłem sobie u niego tę - nomen omen - epickość czy rozmach, który też był dość zgrabnie podany. Szczególnie w przeciwieństwie do modnego wśród krytyków free czy experimental jazzu. "The Epic" ani "Heaven and Earth" to nie jest, ale wciąż na pewno warto sprawdzić, tym bardziej że współprace fajne: Andre 3000, Thundercat, Terrence Martin.
